About Us

4UProgress is a project run by young care leavers for young people growing up in care and/or care leavers. We are a non-profit organisation that provides a range of services to support and promote the physical development, health and mental wellbeing of children and young people who experience the care system. This includes, although not exclusively, those young people who are currently not in education, employment or training. We have a passion for bringing our communities together, to educate, motivate and empower others to make positive life choices.

Our expertise is around identifying and nurturing potential in care leavers and young people in the care system, by delivering various activities and exercises to give them the best possible start in life. We believe that the looked after community should have a voice and feel included, as valid members of society. We offer support to young people we work with, to ensure they reach and develop to their full potential and making sure they have rights to express themselves in a way they feel comfortable. We enable them to explore and showcase their talents whilst contributing towards a healthier lifestyle and a better outcome in life.

Our ethos, objectives and programmes are heavily influenced by the 5 outcomes set out in the Government’s Every Child Matters guidelines, which although over 15 years old now, provides a holistic framework of positive outcomes for all young people.

  • -be healthy.
  • -stay safe.
  • -enjoy and achieve.
  • -make a positive contribution.
  • -achieve economic well-being
